The Federal High Court in Lagos has rendered a verdict against Dr. Anuoluwapo Adepoju, a medical practitioner and the founder of MedContour Services Ltd., concerning the demise of a client, Nneka Onwuzuligbo, who passed away following a botched plastic surgery in 2020.
Babatunde Irukera, the former Director-General of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), who personally handled the case, disclosed the conviction. Dr. Adepoju was found culpable on all five charges brought forth by the FCCPC.
Dr. Adepoju was indicted by the FCCPC in 2020 for disregarding summonses to appear and provide certain documents. The agency accused her of conducting a failed plastic surgery procedure that led to the death of Nneka Onwuzuligbo.

The FCCPC accused the cosmetic surgeon of disregarding summonses from the agency to appear and furnish a specific document.
