Gabriel Osho, the Nigerian defender, is poised to reach his 170th league career appearance as Luton Town takes on Everton at Kenilworth Road in match-day 36 of the English Premier League today.
Throughout this season, the 25-year-old has been a consistent presence for the Hatters, featuring in 18 league matches and scoring two goals.
Assuming no unexpected changes occur, the manager, Rob Edwards, is likely to include the Nigerian in the squad set to confront Everton.
Since his transfer from Rochdale to Luton in 2021, Osho has amassed 82 appearances for the club and has found the net five times.
A graduate of the Reading Academy, the defender marked his inaugural professional appearance for the club in December 2018, during a 1-0 loss to Middlesbrough. Despite the setback, the young player was named Man of the Match.
During his tenure with Reading U-18, he appeared twice before advancing to the U-21 squad, tallying 52 appearances. His stint with the senior team amounted to just 10 games, during which he provided an assist despite not scoring a goal.
Across his stints with Yeovil Town, Bristol Rovers, and Aldershot, Osho accumulated a total of 47 appearances.
Throughout his career, the defender has amassed 201 appearances across various competitions, with 22 of those occurring in domestic cups, while the majority, 169 appearances, were in league football.
Earlier this year, the player, born in England, expressed his willingness to represent Nigeria, but unfortunately, he was sidelined from the Eagles’ friendly matches against Mali and Ghana in March due to injury.
Nevertheless, he remains optimistic about his availability for the Eagles’ upcoming World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in June.
