The defending champions, Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin, are set to kick off their Federation Cup title defense on Wednesday against Stormers of Ogun State in the round of 64. The match will take place at the old parade ground in Abuja at 4pm.
Bendel Insurance secured their fourth FA title by defeating Enugu Rangers 1-0 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, in 2023.
Their journey in this year’s FA Cup began with a convincing 3-1 victory over Ine Stars, leading them to lift the Edo FA Cup last month.
The last encounter between Insurance and Stormers took place in the Nigeria National League during the 2021-2022 season, where Insurance emerged victorious with 1-0 and 2-0 wins, both at home and away.
On the other hand, Ine Stars will face Kebbi United in the same round. Ine Stars secured their spot in the round of 64 by defeating Crusaders FC of Bayelsa 2-0 earlier this month in Asaba.
A victory for Bendel Insurance in this match will secure them a place in the round of 32. The match between Ine Stars and Kebbi United will also be held at the same venue at 1pm.
