Abike Olonade, a woman in her middle age, has been apprehended for trafficking a 16-year-old student to Libya. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, reportedly attends Adeoye Lambo Secondary School in Obada Oko, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The spokesperson for the command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Saturday, stating that the suspect admitted to trafficking the victim to Libya.
She stated, “Abike Olonade has been apprehended for trafficking a 16-year-old student of Ademoye Lambo Secondary School in Obada Oko, Ogun State.”
“She admitted to trafficking the victim to Libya.”

The United States Department of Justice has announced that following a two-week trial, a federal jury in Camden, New Jersey, has found a Nigerian couple, Bolaji Bolarinwa, aged 50, and Isiaka Bolarinwa, aged 67, both residents of Burlington County, New Jersey, guilty of forced labor and other related offenses.
During the period from December 2015 to October 2016, the couple compelled two individuals into domestic labor, including childcare.
Bolaji was convicted on two counts of forced labor, one count of harboring aliens for financial gain, and two counts of document servitude.
Isiaka was convicted on two counts of forced labor and one count of harboring aliens for financial gain. They were acquitted of a second count of harboring aliens for financial gain.
“Upon Victim 1’s arrival in the United States in December 2015, Bolaji Bolarinwa seized her passport and used threats of physical harm to her and her daughter, verbal abuse, isolation, and continuous monitoring to force her to work every day, throughout the day, for almost a year.
“When Victim 2 arrived in the United States in April 2016, Bolaji Bolarinwa likewise confiscated her passport and coerced her into household chores and childcare, resorting more frequently to physical abuse,” the court was informed.
