The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has indefinitely suspended Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji, a National Assembly member representing Birnin Magaji/Kaura Namoda.
The suspension was announced by the Zamfara APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, in a press statement released on Friday.
Idris explained that the suspension was necessitated by Jaji’s political misconduct, including anti-party activities that contributed to the party’s poor performance in the recent general elections in the state.
Additional charges against Jaji include his refusal to attend APC events at the ward and local government levels, and his involvement in creating factions within the party, thereby weakening its strength and popularity.
According to Idris, the state headquarters of the APC received a letter from the Birnin Magaji local government APC, originating from the ward level, requesting observation and approval for Jaji’s suspension. This prompted the state party to inform the national APC headquarters for further action.

“The State Executive Committee of the APC, Zamfara State Chapter, held an emergency meeting at the State Party Secretariat in Gusau on May 17, 2024. During the meeting, Hon. Jaji’s suspension was discussed, and a report from a state fact-finding committee on anti-party activities, established after the 2023 Zamfara State Governorship election, was presented.
“The committee’s report, dated July 15, 2023, implicated Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji in anti-party activities and recommended his immediate suspension pending a review by the State Disciplinary Committee and subsequent ratification by the State Executive Committee.
“The 7-Man State Disciplinary Committee also recommended his suspension after he failed to appear before the committee despite multiple invitations. The State Executive Committee reviewed and agreed with the committee’s findings and resolved to suspend him based on these findings,” Idris explained.
“As a result, the Zamfara State APC Executive Committee approved the suspension of Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji from the party, based on the recommendations of the State Disciplinary Committee and his recent suspension by the APC Birnin Magaji Ward Executive Committee, which was affirmed by the APC Birnin Magaji Local Government Executive Committee.”
