Nollywood actress and producer, Toyin Abraham, has cautioned her fans and followers against engaging in bullying or cursing others on her behalf.
On May 14, 2024, the filmmaker utilized her Instagram story to implore her followers to abstain from bullying others on her behalf.
She expressed, “Please refrain from using a fan page established in my name to bully or curse others. Let individuals criticize, curse, and mistreat me as much as they desire. The Lord is my strength and will continue to be my strength, please.”
The actress further shared the public service announcement on her X account, receiving encouragement from her followers and supporters.
A fan remarked, “People engage in a lot of negativity these days… I understand that sometimes we feel compelled to respond or engage with them, because only God knows what you did wrong that they always criticize. May God be with you, Mum Ire.”
“Do you expect someone like me to remain passive…?? Have you forgotten where I followed you from? Have you forgotten our humble beginnings? Should I just sit back and let someone tarnish your name? TOYIN, AYA AJEYEMI, let me speak up for you,” another fan stated in her defense.“We no go hear, any slander or insult to you or your personality will be met with equal and proportionate response,” said another defensive follower. “No matter how good you are to people, they will still get back at you with ill and defame words.”
However, not all commenters stood in support of her. A notable comment read, “When you mess up, netizens will address your mistakes. That’s how it goes; we don’t condone hypocrisy, and the opinions of the masses are significant.”
