Charly Boy, the unconventional singer also known as Charles Oputa, has alleged that the Federal Government led by President Bola Tinubu is contemplating the arrest of Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the last election, due to his consistent criticism of the administration.
He cautioned that any move to apprehend or level charges against Obi would face resistance of an unprecedented magnitude in Nigeria’s history. Charly Boy urged the Federal Government to exercise caution, emphasizing the potential of such an action to ignite widespread unrest in the country.
In a post on his social media handle, Charly Boy stated: “There are reports indicating an impending arrest of Peter Obi by Tinubu’s Government, allegedly due to his persistent calls for good governance and accountability from Tinubu.”
He continued, “Any attempt to arrest or prosecute Obi will encounter a level of resistance unlike anything witnessed in Nigeria’s history, and the Obidients are prepared for it.
