On March 9, 2024, mourners gathered in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State for the funeral service of Wigwe, his wife, Chizoba Doreen, and their son, Chizzy. The trio was laid to rest after a joint funeral ceremony held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo.
Wigwe tragically lost his life on February 9, 2024, in a helicopter crash in the United States, along with his wife and son.
