Nigerian singer Skales has stated that genuine love no longer exists in the world.
During the latest episode of The Midday Show on the Beat 99.9FM, Skales, the entertainer, addressed his earlier admission of having dated “about 100 women or so” in the past. He revealed that he no longer believes in love except for a mother’s love.
“I’m shattered, and I’ve lost faith in love,” he began. “I’ve come to believe that people are inherently self-centered, and genuine love seems scarce. Every display of affection seems to have an underlying agenda nowadays. It’s disheartening. The only love I consider genuine is the love from my mother and perhaps God’s love. I sometimes question if I’m disrespecting God by saying this because God embodies love, but when it comes to human interactions, I find it hard to see.”
When asked if he genuinely expressed love towards others, Skales expressed his belief that he was born into the wrong era.
“I feel like I’m a good person in the wrong time,” he expressed. “It’s as if there’s a rivalry between men and women these days. There are still good individuals out there, like myself. Yes, I’m hurting, but I believe I’m on a path to healing. However, this generation seems utterly lost. It’s like everyone is caught in a cycle, recycling the same people.”
In a recent interview, Skales likened his past behavior to that of King Solomon from the Bible, who was known for his numerous relationships.
“Let me clarify. My circumstances are different now, but in the past, I couldn’t resist the allure of women. There seemed to be an endless supply of them, you know? You walk down the streets and women are everywhere, bro. At that time, I could have been compared to King Solomon. You know, he had countless wives and concubines.”
