Angela Okorie has criticized actor Zubby Michael after a video of him handing bundles of cash to the grieving family of the late actor Junior Pope went viral.
On Monday, May 20, 2024, the actress took to her Instagram Story to accuse Zubby Michael of staging the recording of his charitable act. She criticized him for not giving Junior Pope’s family the money privately.
She remarked, “Zubby, if you genuinely intended to support Junior Pope’s family, you could have done so discreetly, just like the way I used to support you quietly back then, nobody would have known. But instead, you set up a camera to film yourself giving bundles of money to JP’s family. We’re all familiar with your penchant for propaganda, so please, spare us.”
In another Instagram Story post, Okorie criticized the actor for what she deemed “an unnecessary display of wealth” and labeled him a “local boy.”
Her post stated, “Zubby, a young person has passed away. The ostentatious display of wealth wasn’t warranted, but as the local boy that you are, you seem to lack common sense. Do you think you have more money than all the dignitaries present there? Fool.”
Other social media users agreed with Okorie, stating that Zubby should not have recorded his good deed.
An Instagram user commented, “Everyone is so blinded by ‘Zuby the star’ that they’re overlooking the message Angela is trying to convey… People are speculating about whether he promised her marriage and so on… Our issue as a society is that we tend to have narrow perspectives and only scratch the surface until things escalate and reveal the truth. The fact that Angela keeps addressing this issue repeatedly suggests that there’s more to their relationship than what meets the eye… But because it’s Zuby, everyone has taken his side… Shake my head (smh).”
